ROMANCE LANGUAGE
A Weekend in Florence
A three-day gathering for six thoughtful people centered around reflection, meaningful conversation, and slowing down.
September 18–20, 2026
Florence, Italy
Limited to 6 Participants
An Invitation
Something happens when we leave home.
The pace changes. Our attention shifts. The habits, obligations, and identities we carry every day loosen their grip.
Romance Language is a small gathering designed to create the conditions where meaningful moments are more likely to happen. It isn't about finding your purpose or transformation.
Over one weekend, we'll move between conversation, creative exercises, shared meals, walking, journaling, quiet reflection, and unstructured time.
You don’t have to be an artist to belong here; this experience is not about making art.
There won’t be a packed itinerary or pressure to have a breakthrough. Instead, we'll create space for curiosity, rest, unexpected conversations, and paying closer attention to ourselves and each other—a container where creativity can emerge in whatever form feels natural to you.
You don’t need to be an artist.
You just need to be curious and willing.
This weekend is for you if…
You're eager for a few days away from the pace of everyday life.
You're curious about yourself and enjoy asking and answering honest questions.
You find meaning in conversations that go beneath the surface.
You're drawn to experiences that invite reflection and active listening, rather than performance.
You like the idea of spending a weekend with thoughtful strangers who are just as willing to be present as you are.
You're open to slowing down and seeing what emerges.
This weekend is NOT for you if…
You're hoping for a vacation packed with sightseeing or a rigid itinerary.
You're looking for a retreat that promises to fix you or transform your life.
You're uncomfortable with introspection or sharing space with other people's inner worlds.
You'd rather spend the weekend keeping to yourself than participating in a small group experience.
You're looking for a social weekend centered around drinking or nightlife. While we're together, all programming is alcohol and substance-free so everyone can be safe and fully present.

Meet your hosts
(Yes, we are both Libras)
Joanna “Sky” Fusco
Sky Fusco is an artist, writer, and facilitator who believes world peace starts with people slowing down long enough to pay attention to themselves, to each other, and to the small moments that easily go unnoticed.
Over the past several years, she's gathered hundreds of people through workshops, writing, and guided experiences rooted in curiosity, emotional honesty, and meaningful conversation. Romance Language grew out of Sky’s three favorite things: Questions, yapping with people, and her birthplace, Italy.
Liz Levitch
Liz Levitch is a writer and creative strategist exploring the themes of relationships, slowness, and intentional living. Her favorite conversations usually begin with a simple question and end somewhere unexpected.
Drawn to non-traditional ways of being, she loves imagining new blueprints for communal living, romance, and deep friendships, while creating spaces where people can be wholly themselves.
She believes boredom and a little friction are often where meaningful growth begins, and can often be found doing absolutely nothing by the ocean. Currently, her favorite mantra is “I don’t understand this yet.”
Who else is coming?
Six people.
We chose this number intentionally.
Small enough for one conversation, but large enough for spontaneity, crossover, and different perspectives. Safe to be seen, safe to wallflower without anybody noticing.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. In fact, we imagine most participants will. This weekend is intentionally designed to bring together people who don't already know one another. Many of the experiences are built around meaningful conversation, so you'll never feel like you're on the outside looking in.
-
This weekend isn't about making art or being "good" at anything. You don’t have to be an artist to belong here! It's for anyone who's curious about themselves, enjoys thoughtful conversation, and wants to spend a weekend paying closer attention.
Through thoughtful conversations, shared meals, activities, and moments of reflection, we’ll create a container where creativity can emerge in whatever form feels natural to you.
-
No. While our experiences invite reflection and honest conversation, this is not group therapy or a clinical healing program. Think of it as a thoughtfully facilitated weekend of guided experiences, meaningful questions, and shared exploration.
-
Rather than teaching a skill, we'll move through a series of guided experiences centered around observation, conversation, reflection, curiosity, deep listening, and paying attention. Some activities will be individual, some in pairs, and some as a group. We'll also leave generous space between gatherings to rest, wander, journal, or simply enjoy Florence.
-
Yes. Intentionally so. We believe spaciousness is part of the experience. There will be several hours each afternoon to explore the city, rest, have a coffee, visit a museum, or simply do nothing at all.
-
No. Participants will book their own accommodations. Once participants are confirmed, we'll create a WhatsApp group where everyone can introduce themselves, ask questions, and share travel plans if they'd like.
-
Florence Airport is the closest option, though many travelers also fly into Rome, Pisa, or Bologna before taking a train into Florence. ItaliaRail is the highspeed train that travels throughout Italy, including from Rome to Florence.
We recommend getting to Italy days before the weekend to account for jet-lag. Participants will want to be settled in Florence by Friday afternoon.
-
Five restaurant meals are included over the course of the weekend: two lunches and three dinners. Snacks, breakfast, and alcohol are not included.
-
We ask that participants abstain from alcohol and other substances when we are together—yes, even at shared meals! We want everyone to be fully present with themselves, with one another, and with the experiences we'll share together.

Honestly, we expect most people will be. Meeting new people and stepping into the unknown takes courage. Our job is to create a thoughtful, warm, welcoming container where you don't have to perform or have anything figured out—just come as you are.
